And if a ten tonne truck crashes into us

It was actually a double decker bus that hit me when I realised this afternoon I still had to bind, sleeve and label this big bad bugger. I actually love doing the binding on quilts, so this will be fun. A heavenly way to die, almost (sorry to all those Smiths fans out there).

Summer Haze - ready for binding

I love the way the quilter quilted this. Caroline recommended a poppy pattern, and given the name of the quilt is "Summer Haze" I thought it was very appropriate.

When I went on my little jaunt to Queanbeyan yesterday, I popped into a couple of ops shops and came away with these. The mugs, not the bodum (although I've had that bodum so long it's almost vintage itself).

Pyrex mugs

Anyone who understands my true love of vintage Pyrex, will know why I had to buy them.

  1. I knew I liked you!

And if a ten tonne truck, kills the both of us, to die by your side well the pleasure, the privelege is mine.

I haven't thought about that song, or the Smiths for that matter for years! But as soon as I saw your heading, I was crooning away to myself and remembering how much I used to LOVE them.

    Thanks Mich.

  3. The quilt is gorgeous! I can sew dance costumes, tutu's, anything, but I just can't get the quilting thing. I love the way they look, I've bought a pattern or ten, I keep buying and stashing fat quarters that I never use, I just never get around to actually doing it.
And I know exactly what you mean about the mugs, I think my mum still has hers!

  12. Hooray !! I've finally found someone like me. My favourite bit of making a quilt is actually the binding...

If I could just do that all day, I'd be a very happy girl.

  13. Oh yay, a Smiths quote, very good. And what a quilt! Forgive me for being obtuse and lazy (not reading back to get to the relevant post...) but is it an exhibition open to the public, and if so, when/where??
