I haven't been online much lately, so I'm sorry if I owe you an email, and I'm sorry I haven't been commenting on any blogs. I'm not too sure what's going on, but I think I just needed a break from my cyberlife.
Today I spent a few hours in the sewing room while the rain fell outside. I got to play with some new fabrics which is always a heap of fun as you never know how cute they are going to look in bags until you turn them inside out at the end of the sewing.
I think these ones meet the required cuteness factor, don't you?
I've decided to do something a little different. Tomorrow morning I'm going to list these bags on Etsy, but I will be making them as they are ordered. It will only take me a couple of days to get them in the post to you, but the benefit to me is that I'm only making bags if people are interested in them.
Anyway, it's just an experiment at this stage as I'm also trying to move Buttontree Lane into a place that will be easy to keep up with once I start working outside of the house again.
It's curried sausages for tea tonight - it's still raining outside so I think it's the perfect night for it.

You know, I've never had curried snags. Might have to look up a recipe.
ReplyDeleteI think those bags are DEFINITELY cute! Red! Hippos! What's not to love? And I think the ordering method is a good idea - definitely worth trialling anyway!
I'm the same as Rose Red, I've never had curried sausages. I looked at some recipes that I could vegify, but never went further than that.
ReplyDeleteThe bags are very sweet. I like the red contrast stitching on the handle of the mushroom bag. And are they pink squirrels on top of the mushrooms? Very cute.
They are soooo cute and yes curried sausage would have been great tonight!
ReplyDeleteOh nooooo, not mushies and me on a strict no buying policy for I don't know how long, bugger it. I waaaannnnttttt. But I will be strong I'll wait and see if I get Birthday money next month and then order one using your new method. Lordy woman you are a temptress, keep it up!
ReplyDeleteSounds like the 'something different' will take some pressure off while still allowing you to do what you love. I hope it works for you.
ReplyDeleteThe new fabrics well and trully exceed the required cuteness factor!
Dripping in cuteness, they are. Curried sausages, huh? Haven't had those since I was a teen - wonder if Mum still has the recipe...
ReplyDeleteThe hippos are VERY cute. I agree that you should make to order. I do that with my homewares orders and even with the fabric printing, otherwise you are investing too much in stock sitting around.
ReplyDeleteGood lick with the change - fingers crossed it works for you. Curried Snags - yes it is the weather for it isn't it.
ReplyDeleteCurried Sausages yummo! I like those new bags. I'm putting one of your bags on my christmas list!
ReplyDeleteThe bags are so C.U.T.E !! :D
ReplyDeleteoh yes - cute. I like the idea of creating to order. it will be good to see how it turns out.
ReplyDeletewe had cauliflower and blue cheese soup for tea - it was such soup weather wasn't it? not good for my skate park though - it is going to look like a pool complex if this keeps up
Super cutesies! :)
ReplyDeleteGood to have a break form the virtual life sometimes! It's refreshing and inspiring!
Nice to have you back though! :)
I remember curried sausages! Yum! The hippos are fabulous, and the mushies are adorable :-)
ReplyDeleteI really don't want to go back to work from maternity leave (the decision date is looming large right now), partly because then I'll NEVER get any craft done and I've only just rediscovered it!!
