If I ever

If I ever did a market, I think I'd find it hard to get a display apparatus as neat as my crabapple tree in late winter.

It's a beautifully cold, clear and very windy day. Oh, I love days like this, even if I had to spend some time this morning securing the garden furniture before this evening's expected gale force winds. The sun is coming through my sewing room window, and this morning I worked on a pile of quilted sunnyboys that were waiting for zips and some seams. I'm a lazy sewer - I don't like changing thread colours in my machine more than I have to. Today it was red thread and white thread day. Tomorrow it will be taupe thread and cream thread day.

Some of these are for my Etsy store, but the rest are for the gallery shop opening in early October.

OK, OK - I couldn't stay away for long. Come back tomorrow for the giveaway details.

  1. Weeehee! I've been away for ages (I'm overseas atm) but it's so lovely to come back to your sparkly blog! You're doing amazing things, as always :-) They look spectacular on that tree! And what's this about a gallery opening?! Geez, you go away for a few weeks and everything happens... :-) Congratulations on whatever it is! And I can't wait for the giveaway xxx

  2. They look so beautiful sprouting from your tree. I'm loving the pink with red mushrooms...pretty.
I have the same thread changing aversion as you. I have my sisters sewing machine set up to stay on white thread so I don't have to constantly change (especially at the end when I only need white thread to sew on a tiny CurlyPops label).

  4. I think that fruit is much better- you could almost call it a money tree of sorts. I'll be back tomorrow to see what that giveaway is.

  6. ooo yes - so lush and blossoming. you would have to find the perfect branch and set it up just like that.
thank you for the tiffin - I got to keep some after the greedy small people had a share. I shouldn't have exclaimed how wonderful it was so loudly! now they are all gone to their respective houses I might just have one with a cup of tea.

  11. Maybe that photo should sit somewhere in your sewing room for days when the sun is not coming through your window.

  17. Mmmmm - beautiful tree and gorgeous sunnyboy bags :-)

I'm moving to a new house in a few weeks and can't wait to plant a crabapple (Malus floribunda) in the back garden as one of the first changes to the garden.

I love cold clear weather too .... it makes everything seem sparkly!
