Monday afternoon, 5.15 pm

I haven't been online much lately, so I'm sorry if I owe you an email, and I'm sorry I haven't been commenting on any blogs. I'm not too sure what's going on, but I think I just needed a break from my cyberlife.

Today I spent a few hours in the sewing room while the rain fell outside. I got to play with some new fabrics which is always a heap of fun as you never know how cute they are going to look in bags until you turn them inside out at the end of the sewing.

I think these ones meet the required cuteness factor, don't you?

I've decided to do something a little different. Tomorrow morning I'm going to list these bags on Etsy, but I will be making them as they are ordered. It will only take me a couple of days to get them in the post to you, but the benefit to me is that I'm only making bags if people are interested in them.

Anyway, it's just an experiment at this stage as I'm also trying to move Buttontree Lane into a place that will be easy to keep up with once I start working outside of the house again.

It's curried sausages for tea tonight - it's still raining outside so I think it's the perfect night for it.

  1. You know, I've never had curried snags. Might have to look up a recipe.

I think those bags are DEFINITELY cute! Red! Hippos! What's not to love? And I think the ordering method is a good idea - definitely worth trialling anyway!

  2. I'm the same as Rose Red, I've never had curried sausages. I looked at some recipes that I could vegify, but never went further than that.

The bags are very sweet. I like the red contrast stitching on the handle of the mushroom bag. And are they pink squirrels on top of the mushrooms? Very cute.

  5. Sounds like the 'something different' will take some pressure off while still allowing you to do what you love. I hope it works for you.

The new fabrics well and trully exceed the required cuteness factor!

  6. Dripping in cuteness, they are. Curried sausages, huh? Haven't had those since I was a teen - wonder if Mum still has the recipe...

  7. The hippos are VERY cute. I agree that you should make to order. I do that with my homewares orders and even with the fabric printing, otherwise you are investing too much in stock sitting around.

  13. I remember curried sausages! Yum! The hippos are fabulous, and the mushies are adorable :-)

I really don't want to go back to work from maternity leave (the decision date is looming large right now), partly because then I'll NEVER get any craft done and I've only just rediscovered it!!
