9 out of 10 health care professionals recommend SEWING to alleviate blue-coloured thoughts! *
Thanks to this medical advice, today I finished a skirt and washed it so I can wear it to work this week.
I sewed most of a Not Sorbetto top, bar the facing and arm holes.
And I've been studying this made-a-long-time-ago top to see if I can make it less Kamahl-ish. I'm thinking of removing the sleeves, adding in some waist shaping and fixing the dodgy hem. It would have gone to the charity bin but I love the colour and the neck stitching.
For tonight's blue-banishing sewing activity, I'm going to baste this little wonky fella so I can hand quilt it.
What about you? Does sewing help you blow the blues away?
*Not really. But they should.
Sometimes sewing causes more blues!!! Nah, on balance , very uplifting - your quilt looks amazing!
ReplyDeletei l.o.v.e the kamahl-ish orange top, it is gorgeous!

I love ALL THE THINGS! Love the skirt especially and the kamahl top. Embrace your inner (outer?) kamahl, I say!
ReplyDeleteAnd hurrah for wonky quilt! Looks so fab!
Are you wearing the skirt with the not Sorbetto? Hope so as the colours look like they'll go well together. Really love the detailing on the skirt, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteAnd you are right about the mental health benefits for sewing/crafting and I have heard talk of it being recommended to people with mental health problems.
Can't wait to see what the wonky quilt looks like finished, it's got such pretty colours in it!
I answered YES, YES amd Yes... and you know what - that's the best doctors advice ever!
ReplyDeleteWow, the skirt and non sorbetto outfit is beautiful. Amazing fabric. I like the medical advice!! Too right!
ReplyDeleteSewing (or crocheting/knitting) does bring me out of a blue funk. I like the top...definitely need to redo and not send it off.
ReplyDeleteYou and your made-up health care professionals are so right! I love the skirt. I hope you will post the results of your kamali do-over.
ReplyDeleteOh I agree. I've been battling over the weekend with my first FBA. Frustrated? A little. Feeling good? You bet.
ReplyDeleteLove your skirt - how about a modelled shot?
Not Sorbetto looks wonderful, and true - it will look great with your new skirt. Why not add just a feww rows of shirring over each side seam just to pull it in a little and give it more shape? That neckline with rows of stitching does look good and the colour is fabulous! Hugs, xxxx
ReplyDeleteSuch fantastic advice... and so very very true. So much colour and magic here. Loving all that you have made.
