It's funny. I just wrote a very long post about how I try to keep a positive attitude and how I attempt to overcome down-in-the-dumps days. Then I deleted it. Today was a fairly horrid day, and I'm letting the turkeys get me down. I'm not in the mood for being positive at this very moment. I just want chocolate icecream.
Anyway, yesterday it was 36 degrees. It was so hot that I lost a few baby zucchini to heat stress. Poor little buggers. But check out how pretty this zucchini flower is (I'm seeing a Mr Whippy soft serve icecream - can you see it too?)
PS. I hate letting the turkeys win - my next post will be happier, I promise.
Bah humbug to those turkeys. Be gone with them immediately!
ReplyDeleteMmmmm some chocolate Mr Whippy would be very nice right now.
Amazing photo!
ReplyDeleteI hope lunch was a bright spot in an otherwise horrid day.
I too wish to comment on the spectacular photographs on your blog. I was going to ask about your camera, and thought I should first search your posts in case you had already mentioned it.
ReplyDeleteBut of course I got sidetracked when the second post that was returned was from November 07, and showed your "short and sweet" crochet. What a fascinating pattern.
And I would still love to know about your camera, although no doubt your photographic skills would show regardless of the equipment.
My camera is a Konica Revio KD-310Z.
ReplyDeleteOoo! I could use some Mr Whippies too but a cuo of Milo (powder that is) would be even better! Cherrie
ReplyDeletemmmmm ice cream!!! We just had some of our lovely vanilla with magical elves with sprinkle on top!! mmmmmmm yum!
ReplyDeleteNext year I'll share my excellent apricots with you so you can get up a stock of YOUR dilish ice cream exactly for days like this!
xo
Great photo Michelle. Have that ice cream, and hopefully the poultry will depart very soon.
ReplyDeleteIn keeping with the cooking theme, you could just cook the turkey and serve it with beautiful zucchini-flower fritters. Eat your problems. (I wish my problems were icecream, too!)
ReplyDeleteHUGS being sent over the computer to you - bah humbug to the turkeys.
ReplyDeleteI try to grow anything in the squash / melon / cucumber family and the mould(?) gets them .... I guess it is too damp in the UK for them - even in summer !
So I am a little envious (in a nice way !) of your great photo - please keep on posting the pics though as inspiration for our summer !
Vanessa
It is so a Mr Whippy! Hope you got your icecream.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like a strength sapping hot day to make you feel a bit crap. Hope the cool change has come through.
hard to soar with the eagles when you're surrounded by turkey-folk... And I'm not seeing Mr Whippy, I'm seeing fetta-stuffed zucchini flowers, tempura-dipped and lightly fried...
ReplyDeleteThe turkeys should have been eaten for christmas lunch.
ReplyDeleteDoes imagining they are chicken with their head chopped off running around the coop help? Bit metaphorical perhaps!!!
ReplyDeletevery very mr whippy - you just need to sprinkle it with hundreds and thousands and it will be complete. I hope today will be better for you. All my visitors left this morning so I am feeling quite flat myself.
ReplyDeleteHugs and ice-cream. I hope today is brighter than yesterday.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo. I picked some beautiful zuchinni flowers the other day and stuffed and cooked them - YUM!!
ReplyDeleteThat photo is so gorgeous and it sure looks like icecream to me too. It must be a sign - eat the icecream and soothe your soul.
ReplyDeleteHope you quashed those turkeys today.
Sometimes it is so hard to keep positive, but it really is the best way to keep going forward. I've had the same thing happen to me the past couple of days, must be something in the air! And yes, that zuchinni flower is just like an ice cream. I agree, it's a sign :)
ReplyDeleteKick turkeys, eat icecream and stuff the zucchini flowers (with ricotta and herbs and lightly batter and deep fry - aaaaaahhhhh)
ReplyDeleteand remind me to email you the recipe for apricot and prune chili chutney! (my method of dealing with 7000 kg of apricots)
Hi! I decided to randomly click on people that comment on Posie Gets Cosy's blog, and I stumbled across yours! You know, 'You've Got Mail' always makes me smile!! That, and 'Hope Floats.' You have such a lovely blog, I'll be sure to revisit!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been feeling to positive myself of late, not sure why. I hope your feeling more upbeat soon!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, the Greenhouse cafe is only around until the 29th of Jan.
